April x Nike SB Dunk Low
April Skateboards comprises a healthy mix of industry veterans and burgeoning stars the likes of Guy Mariano and Rayssa Leal, respectively. For its first-ever Nike SB project, O’Neill’s label has seemingly combined old and new school across the beloved silhouette. Peter Moore’s modified basketball sneaker from 1985 was born in 2002, with April Skateboard’s vision bringing suede, mesh, and leather to its uppers. A vibrant blue – which has animated skate decks, t-shirts, and six-panel caps before – animates overlays throughout the sneaker, working in-tandem with silver-finished aglets, profile swooshes, and co-branding on the spines. The fourth month is etched onto the lateral heel, cementing O’Neill’s home after Primitive – which is also home base for Yuto Horigome – in the annals of Nike Skateboarding. Underfoot, outsoles boast an icy finish that complements the top-half well, while also exposing a number of rich blue details.
