The sneaker pushed running footwear into new spaces with its lightweight one-piece mesh upper paired with Nike’s proven cushlon midsole and a Zoom Air heel. The Zoom Streak 3 quickly became a favorite amongst Nike athletes at the time thanks to its minimal weight and breathability. From 2009 to 2013 the Zoom Streak 3 crossed more finish line tape than any Nike Racing sneaker prior. It went on to create a foundation for the Vaporfly many years later.
